What We Do
YWCA South Sudan was as established in 1997 as a women’s group in the local Anglican Church of Yambio town in Western Equatorial region of South Sudan.
Peace Building and
Peacemakers program.
YWCA has formed so far over 30 peace maker group of youth all over South Sudan focusing with the aim of promoting peaceful coexistence among the communities of South Sudan through interactive ways.
Economic empowerment
This project aims at improving the livelihood of Women and Men in the rural communities of South Sudan so that they can be able to sustain their daily living and improve their standard of living.
International/ National advocacy
YWCA advocates nationally and internationally to lobby with stake holders and actors who can promote peace in South Sudan. Young people especially young women in YWCA are empowered in a way that they can be able to speak to the policy makers without fear in order to make changes in the policies that do not promote peace.

This project is for people living with disabilities supported by ATLAS, it was newly initiated program in 2020 where YWCA and other organizations work in a consortium.
Women Voice and leadership
(Care South Sudan)
The project aimed at empowering Women Right Organizations (WROs) and enhance their capacity in program and governance. The project as well bring together young girls under let girls talk initiative where by young women come together to discuss issues affecting them in their families and community at large.
Education Program
In Maridi branch, YWCA opened a school with classes from Nursery to primary level, with a total of 750 pupils. The aim for the school is to provide quality Education to the vulnerable children such as orphans and children with disabilities. In this program YWCA offer scholarship to at list ten most vulnerable children each year.
